built my first water cooling rig. a 3x120 rad, mcp35x pump w/ the mcp35x-res. i'm using an XSPC rasa cpu block on a 1090t. One of my friends had an extra rasa cpu block sitting around so I decided to use that on my radeon 6970 (with ramsinks) and it's idling at 33c which i assume is just fine for a video card. anytime i run anything of substance it shoots up really fast to 85 - 90 celsius, over a period of maybe 30 seconds to a minute. I haven't let it run any longer than that because I don't want to fry it. I understand for this gpu above 95C is bad. after reaching those really hot temps it cools down again really fast. I don't understand why it keeps heating up/cooling down so fast.
now, all that said, I have it zip-tied on. I know how terrible that is but it's the only way i could get it on there as it's a cpu-block. I had considered that it wasn't seated well enough, but it seems to be. anyway, any advice would be great.
Thanks
p.s. my cpu stays nice and cool like it's supposed to during all of this.
