I have a GPS from the software Streets and Trips 2007, is there a way for me to hack or any other way to make it also pick up traffic updates when I am going home.:)

Traffic updates are usually done through either a radio frequency, or over satellite radio. So in this instance another piece of hardware would ne needed.

MS sells a version of Streets and Trips with connected services, it includes a gps receiver and and an MSN Diect receiver that picks up a signal on an FM band. The price of the package includes a year subscription to MSN Direct.

I know of no free service that provides traffic and integrates that with gps software. Traffic updates are very propietary in nature and have to be associated with supporting software.

I guess the short answer for your first question was, "no".
