A store advertised a specific chip "S" code and then when it arrives at the door you find out its not the "S" code you ordered.
Well, it happened to me five days ago...
Ok, I know this happens from time to time. But here is the shocker:
It is from an order directly placed from Intel Americas through the IPD programme.
The order specifically stated a SL6VV, but they sent me an SL6W5. Technically the only differences are one is a later stepping with multiple operating voltages. I would not normally care too much if the CPU was a newer or older stepping, I just want the stepping that was advertised. Emailed Intel, but no response so far (otherwise I would normally let this pass if they admitted there was a mistake somewhere along the line)
Imagine the huff people are going to make if they don't get the proper stepping prescotts they order.
WHAT UP INTEL?
