I didn't expect it would show up until mid-summer. Now I have to roll up the sleeves and install it. Sounds like a project for Saturday. Still, it'll be nice. Right up until all my friends get nehalems. But at least I get to enjoy being top dog for a few months. Btw- this was ordered directly from Intel by a relative of mine who works for them. I don't know if they're out in retail much yet..... well, I guess they are- they're in stock at newegg.

Still, who cares? I got mine! It's going onto an Asus Maximus Formula (X38). Should be fun. :D

Congrats. Enjoy installing that beauty. And what wonderful resources relatives that work for Intel are. Always want to stay on their side. ;)
 
So intel is finally offering high-end quads to employees? My "source" told me they only have the Q9300 and QX available, at the moment.
 
Don´t worry, you will be king for quite a few months :)

I am still hoping to find one of those at a decent price in early August, I have come to realize that I MUST HAVE that CPU :) I have two brand new Q9450 that I never unwrapped.. must go to the FS thread :)

Let us know how your temperatures are turning out, and what sort of cooling you are using. Are you going to OC? (please... do!)
