Well, it was a MAJOR PITA to get the colors right.

but i got them, and now it looks awesome! Edges are smooth, NO DEAD PIXELS! :D
has versatile options. the nvidia control panel helped out alot. I wouldn't suggest this if you use integrated graphics.

overall, I got this for $250 OUT THE DOOR OF MICRO CENTER!
then subtract the $50 MIR, which brings it to $200.
THEN, a bigger bonus for me, my mom wanted to buy my old 19" westinghouse back for $50, so I ended up with this gorgeous 24" monitor for $150!!!!!!!!! :D :D

Now I need to SLi this 8800GTX! :D

haha, i picked up one today also. compared to my 2007wfp its a little washed out and for some reason my nvidia panel isnt showing the test patterns.

what are your current settings?

Sounds great.. good to know that Sceptre is a good brand.. there products have always had a good price. Now start gaming at 1920X1080!!

haha, ive been playing left 4 dead and its pretty cool. after having a taste of 1920x1200, i suddenly have an urge to return this tn panel and grab a 2407wfp. i sit lower than my monitor so its really showing its weakness.

newegg had a great deal on a 24" Acer today as part of there black friday deals. 2ms response time and full 1080p display for $270 shipped!

Yep that was it.. but it also had a VGA connection also. My GTX 280 came with the DVI to HDMI Adapter so it was perfect for me.

Plus it has 2 inputs so you dont have to worry about switching cables all the time when you want to play your 360 on it

Looked at those monitors on scouting BF trip and saw the 22" but didn't recognize the brand as a normal MC stocked item.
Are you saying if you have integrated graphics not to buy this monitor?

thats weird, at my MC in mercado they have sceptre branded monitors everywhere.

i think he means that if youre going to run 1920x1200 on any monito you shouldnt be on integrated graphics.

does anyone have test patterns i can use? the colors/brightness/contrast are off a pretty good amount.

Why didn't you just give your mom the 19", she's your mom

because my mom has a $300 samsung 20 inch widescreen. shes been spolied enough.

she bought it back for my sister, who was stuck on a CRT 15".

yeah i wouldn't suggest using integrated graphics with this monitor.

my settings are:
Monitor:
Brightness - 60
Contrast - 39
Color - 9300k

Nvidia control panel: (try trhse, not saure how well they'll work for you)
Brightness: 40%
Digital Vibrance: 17%
Contrast: 45% also, try 55% on the contrast.
Gamma: 44%

alright, ill give it a try. did you use the nvidia's "run the display optimization wizard"?

You're fortunate - a friend of mine who got one from Microcenter scored a unit with FIVE dead pixels.

i guess im going to pop in my old hd dvd patterns and try to go from there (arg if i can find it).

5 dead pixels, that sucks. i was lucky also, 0 for me.

he means i think, if you have integrated, your not gonna have the nvidia control panel's features of setting color, contrast, brightness, and color correction, which is a must on this screen because the OSD isnt enough.

that was my interpretation.

exactly.

the only gripe i have with it is using the ps3 through hdmi-dvi.... when you exit a game back to the dashboard it gives the snowy like effect till you turn it off and on again or start another game, and its definately not my cable ive used 6 diff ones.

the quality is a bit washed out but if you use the graphics card to control the settings you can get a pretty good picture... for the money its definately worth it.

btw your settings were pretty good, thanks!. have you tried using the warmer color temps? the colors are more natural.

Sceptres are not at all bad monitors. Very good for the money, actually.

Their service is godawful. My old company almost exclusively resold these for installations - I went through hundreds for the time I was there. We have a few very, very bad experiences. Don't expect much help if you are having issues close to the end of your warranty. They will let you RMA, proceed to not fix it multiple times (literally received still broken and back for RMA it went), and then tell you too bad as soon as it runs out of it's warranty.

ouch, youre starting to make me wish that i had opt for the warranty at MC. heres to hoping itll last at least a year. hahah.

um, i just noticed that on my sceptre the small fonts in [H] (such as the sigs) aren't really grey on grey backround. the actual text seem to show some green and red. wtheck?

What size monitor were you using previously? It could just be your eyes overfocusing on the larger text...

it was the dell 2007wfp. on that screen its a clear grey on grey but once i slide the window to the sceptre the text is a bit green and red.
