well I was given a computer today...
it doesnt work... so I have to figure out what is up with it.. maybe the mobo is dead...
so it is old and decrepid... is there anything worth saving?

I have a p4 2.8 I could put in...... and make it a dedicated gaming server..... COD4, vegas 1

anyhow...

when you plug power in.... it immediately turns on...
the cpu fan spins
rear fan does a tick move... it really never moves... it like bumps a very little bit...
no video or anything....

is it even worth keeping or trash??

probably a bad power supply.

test all the parts in a diff working pc if you can, keep the case if all else fails.

try another PS and double check all wires/connectors.

ya, I agree with everyone esle, fix it up, and the problem sounds like a bad Power supply. I have had the same problem before, but I tested everything first and it took a couple of days before i got it up and running again.

and it was in the system that is in my sig.

What is with PSU's this week, anyway, I agree with the general consensus on this, most likely a PSU (cause that's what mine did this week when power was put through it), replace that first and see what happens.
