That's a heck if a lot of volts for 3.55 IMHO, sort of figured it would take much less voltage.............:(
 
Intel says that the "Core Voltage" is "0.962V-1.350V". That's the "official" spec.

Voltage variables in OC'ing are MoBo Bios reliant, not the core stepping............:cool: 1.5 vcore shouldn't be a problem on and quality OC'ing MoBo..........G0 stepping or not.
 
1.5 is quite high overall. Im sure it doesnt need that much Voltage..

But as long as its running below 60c ur fine =/
 
High it is, but I've pushed C2D's higher a few times, my best OC was at 1.6v............:cool: But I've got the cooling to handle the temps. I don't think I'd run a system 24/7 that high, but a days woth of stress testing and benchmarks, you bet..............:D
 
if you think about it..1.6V 24.7 would eventually cause problems. cooling does have an affect in play too. But considering your running 1.6V through it 24.7 isnt the best of ideas :p

people think "yah its @ 1.6 but my temps are <60"

uhhh noooo.. that doesnt neccessarily mean its good for the cpu's lifespan
 
That's why I never run anything that extreme 24/7.........:eek:

But honestly, I never keep a CPU long enough for it to go bad, I'll kill the MoBO before I kill a CPU. I've already killed one MoBo with my little E4300..............:D
 
1.5v vcore is fine. i have been running my 6600 over 1.5v for 11 1/2 months. not 24/7, but close. i have a 6850 coming from mwave on friday. if it takes more than 1.5v to break 4ghz, well, sometimes it just beez that way.

Yep I've got a 6850 coming also and the plan is to bring it to it's knees.;)
I'll hit 4g with it or kill it.:D
 
i like your style. i feel the same way about it.

i was reading too many posts by disappointed q6600 buyers so i went for the 6850. i will get a quad in a few months or when a better stepping/batch/whatever comes out.
 
You are more likely to burn out a mobo before the cpu.
 
1.5v really isn't that bad, 1.6 on the other hand is reaching the extreme side of things for 24/7 ops............:eek: At least IMHO. I've run my E4300 at 1.5v (setting) (1.47v) actual almot from the day I got the chip, no problems with heat at all. I'll be shooting for a minimum of 3.8 with my E6750 when it gets here tomorrow and with any luck maybe 4.0 and earn myself another top spot in the OC data base..............:D
