got a new HD, having problems

I picked up a 500GB SATA hard drive today...WD5000KSRTL. I put the drive in the computer, it's the only drive on the system. Ran the install cd from WD and setup partitions. I then put my Windows Server 2003 cd in and attempted to install. It gets to the setup screen but then says there is no hard drive installed. I have verified in the BIOS that it does see the drive, and it is the correct drive. What am I missing here?
