And I gotta say it is really great. It has viewing angle issues if you don't have it right.

But the color accuracy is great IF you calibrate it. PLZ calibrate your monitors guys!

It's a 24" 1920x1200 with a nice really glossy screen, i.e. only use if no lights or open windows behind you!

I would say highly recommend for the price, got it for $189 and free shipping on newegg. Luckily it didn't have any dead pixels (that i see at least).

It's the first true 1080p monitor i've had, and i love it. Can't believe how cheap monitors are becoming. I just gave up on my Dell 20" widescreen. Wanted something a little bigger. That old Dell cost me almost $500 on sale a few yrs back!

Good to hear, Purchased it about an hour ago. Will post my experience when it gets here.

FHD2401...

I have been using his monitor for a while. The off angle view is not the greatest as you will have color shift but I am within 3 feet from the monitor. The other thing is the light sources are on the sides so you get this wierd grey pattern except dead center. turn the ultracontrast off. it is worthless. Ultraresponse = on. The color adjustments, not much to adjust on screen via digital inputs.

Overall I like this monitor. fast response times and all. Now only if the bezel was thinner for eyefinity use! ;)

Congratulations on your new monitor. those are the good types of Christmas presents. :D

I have the older FHD2400. I like mine. When shopping for it I found it to be one of the best looking ones at the time, which was a while ago. I still like the quality of it over others that I see in the store now days. I have not had any issues with mine yet. Hopefully I will not. knock on wood and cross my fingers, just so I do not jinx myself.

I do have a question for you.
Do you have the speaker bar that goes underneath it?

I ask because I had recently made a question on it in another thread. I am basically trying to find a way to use the HDMI for video and the audio jacks for the sound at the same time.

My question for you is based on if they have changed the way the speaker works with the monitor. For my version, which is the older version, it does not seem possible. I am wondering if it is possible with the newer version that you have. The speaker is controlled through the monitor so it should be possible to set it up that way if they designed it right. Sadly it seems they did not take it into account with my version.

If anyone has any thoughts on this I would like to hear them.

no, I didn't get the speaker bar. I already have a 5.1 computer speaker Logitech system.

I need to get a new plate so I can adjust the height for my center speaker to fit under it. The monitor does not allow height adjustment (big bummer), but it is compatible with the VESA 100mm x 100 mm plate to adjust it if you want.

I think the speaker bar is useless anyway. You're paying for a very cheap "tv type" stereo speakers in my opinion.

It's best used strictly as a monitor, speakers would be a secondary buy if I were you.

Thanks for the reply.

I actually like the speaker bar myself. The sound quality is quite good and it hardly cost anything. I actually saw it in action at the store before I bought it. Speakers and monitors/tv are just one of the few things that I will not buy unless I physically see them working. So I was confident in my purchase of it. The price was well worth the quality. Another good thing about it is that I travel a bit. So I find it useful as it is a lot easier to carry around instead of a surround sound system.

When it comes to surround sound systems, I have yet to see a portable enough one that I like. Well except for the Bose speaker system, but that is a bit costly. I usually go for the larger surround sound systems that are for real home entertainment systems. There quality is better. When I game I use headsets and for everything else, like youtube or some other streaming videos, I do not need much. If I need a surround sound system contacted I usually just connect it to my home theater system if need be. I have a few. It just depends on which house I am at.

Anyways enough about the speaker. How do you like your monitor so far now that you have used it a bit? Have you played any games on it and how did they compare to your older monitor?

Monitor just came in today and so far I am loving it. This damm thing is almost as big as my regular tv (27 well almost :p ).

For comparison and torture here is what I was gaming on before.

Yea its probably my biggest upgrade so far even beating my 3800X2 upgrade to a Q6600 back in the day.

One thing I am wondering is what are the settings you guys set the monitor to? First thing I did was turn down the brightness to around 20 and set it to ultra for 2ms. As for gaming man, Its beautiful playing Crysis this high I did not have fraps running but it seemed to run very smoothly. I am gonna see how good later on today.
