Gor a Free lcd today, Need help.

Hello I got a free 17" LCD today. My friends mom said it was broken and that they were giving it away. I checked and it iddn't have a power cable plugged in so I thought that they just forgot to plug it in. So they gave it to me. I took it back to my house and plugged it all in.It powered up just fine. If I turn it off and turn it on, I would get my desktop for like 3 seconds than it would go back. Any fixes, You ahve to turn it off then on again to get picture for like 3 seconds. It's a 17" Dell. e172fp.

why odn't you take it to dell? ı think it has to do with the capacitors inside the power circuit

well the weird thing is. I get the green light that it's working. When I open a program like Photoshop, or CSS , the monitor will turn on and I'll get the picture but it will go away after a few seconds.
