afaik protonmail uses PGP when it is proton -> proton accounts.

proton to proton is encrypted yes. and the storage is encrypted but sending en email to hush mail or scrypt mails is not encrypted ( unless you do the link to mesage thingy) and that whre i wish they would co-operate a bit.
heck this part of it could be 100% transparant from the user if the mail hosters really wanted to.
