Google has released its Files Go app, making it easier for Android users to free up space, find files, back them up to the cloud, and share them with other smartphones, even offline. It should be handy for power users who lean on third-party file organization apps, which are often paid or ad-supported.

We’re excited to introduce Files Go, an app that takes a mobile-first approach to freeing up space, finding files faster, and easily sharing them with others. We’ve been testing Files Go for a month, and the average user is saving 1GB of space and has shared many files with others without using data.

Fudge, it won't install on my Nexus 7.2 saying "your device isn't compatible with this version"
