Google+ Posts Drop by 41 Per Cent

Google+ PUBLIC POSTS are down 41%...no one knows the actual site usage yet as those numbers haven't been made public.

If you're like me, you NEVER post anything public. I only post to my friends circle, so an article like this would only notice that I have not made a public post in months.

Also, it's still by invite only. It's much nicer than facebook with a better mobile app. It's only a matter of time before it overtakes facebook.

Spot on. Exactly what the haters should come to realize in the red part. This entire article is nonsense and 100% not fact. Only google can find that out decline or incline in user posts.... and if it sucked, I'm sure they would do like any other smart company would.....they would never release the declining numbers, lol

On another note!......... I just saw my first Google+ commercial, heh what timing?... it was actually for Chrome (but it did exactly what I said the other day, it mentioned the "Google experience!"!)

It had a globe of all the google services, like gmail and crap.... and then zoomed out to the chrome logo. But it mainly focused on a small business posting their life on Google+. Cool stuff, I bet there will be more users this quarter :)
This was on CNN this morning btw.

Social networking is here to stay, and Facebook certainly has its place in that. The general consensus is that it was as always disliked by the more tech savvy. I was reluctant to create a facebook page, but I did when urged by some friends. I used it for a couple years, but never really could get in to and deactivated recently when all my friends signed up for G+. My initial experience with google+ was much more tolerable and I use it exclusively now. Though mostly just to keep in touch with that small circle of friends and little more. That is exactly what I used Facebook for, so there really is no advantage or disadvantage for me, both do the job just fine. Really all it comes down to is personal preference, and obviously the membership of those with whom you choose to communicate. It is definitely missing a few things, but overall is cleaner and more useful than facebook ever was. Is one better than the other? No not really. They both have copied several things from each other, that's the nature of the business and is pointless to argue who did what first.

There is one unavoidable trend however; people using myspace for years jumped ship for facebook because it learned from its predecessor and made a better product. After using it for years, people understand what they do and dont like about facebook, and will be just as eager for an alternative that builds on its predecessor. Facebook will have quite a fight on its hands in the near future, whether that comes from Google or somewhere else is irrelevant.

I signed up, posted once, then went back to Facebook. Google doesn't really offer any enticing reason to make the switch.

Hopefully it will pick back up once they no longer require invites. I'm still seeing posts from all the people I care to see posts from, so thats all that matters to me.

I like G+ a lot more than FB. If they stop making it so exclusive soon it has a chance of taking off, but at the moment it's just early-adopters. Barren.

uh, the Google+ service is not officially public yet.

hard to get the "max amount" when you need to have a ]-[ookup to get in.

and google+ only advertising has been word of mouth and a couple concerts..... facebook is spammed all over every fucking thing. That's one main reason a lot of people (me especially) loathe facebook. i cannot stand product placement that isn't real or geniune. Facebook rules fake hidden product placement ads, even more than Apple on the NBC business channel!

Not to mention Google+ is better and has been copied by the "big 2" in social media.... and its growth rate is faster than facebook has been, even with it still being in 'beta' invite-only!

LOL, get real and get your facts straight.

Well gee wiz Google, if it is still private what the hell do you expect!

It's funny. You guys all probably complained that Facebook went "downhill" once they no longer required you to have an .edu address. Google comes with something that's pretty exclusive and you're all going on about how Google should open up to the public.

You're all in for a surprise. There's more young girls and aunts and uncles that will post about their day and that Justin Beiber rocks than there are nerds that rages about how Google+ doesn't have all this. When Google+ goes public and if they manage to pull users from Facebook you can bet your ass Google+ will have everything Facebook was hated for. It's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when.

I didn't use Facebook until after it stopped requiring a .edu email address, even though I had one at the time. I hate social networking sites.

Amen!

Its in beta, its not expected to take off save for the geek community....

Silly me, thinking initially it was a social networking site. Once they made it clear that it was an 'identity service' that does everything to out your real name... yah, that got old fast.

How is that different from any other social site?
