The antivirus company Grisoft, under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, has filed subpoenas against Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and GoDaddy. The company is seeking the identities of search advertisers responsible for fraudulently promoting AVG antivirus

"AVG was founded to protect the Internet community against cyber-threats, so we find it particularly disconcerting that criminal organizations are exploiting our good name for fraudulent purposes," said J.R. Smith, president and CEO of Grisoft, in a statement. "Our goal is to locate and prosecute these criminal organizations to protect our users and the integrity of the Internet."

Good. It's about time advertisers who take money from scammers are held accountable.

Makes me pround I use AVG Pro.

Not only is a it a topnotch AV, the company is one of the better.

I hope they win. I hate it when I go to search for a product and a bunch of fake links, especially sponsered results, come up.
