Ahem...I believe some campaign contributions to Ohio and Wisconsin are in order. :D

Google could find itself the target of two separate antitrust probes launched by Ohio and Wisconsin, according to a story published today by Bloomberg. Concerned over the search giant's business practices, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is "evaluating the facts to determine if it's something we want to review," his spokesman Dan Tierney told Bloomberg.

Surprised Wisconsin got time for this with everything else going on there, what the?

So they are reviewing the facts to decide if they want to review them?

Is that politician speak for "waiting to see what 'contributions' we recieve from them in the next few weeks?"

This is a political move, nothing more, and has little or nothing to do with the public interest. Ohio and Wisconsin are both governed by GOP governors and majority-GOP legislatures and Google is seen to be uber-liberal by those on the far right, people who never saw a corporation they didn't like (except those who politics they disagree with).

More drama in WI? I live here... who ever is causing the ruckus... wish they'd quiet up.

+1

Joke: they ought to do an antitrust probe on the people who do antitrust probes. :D

Did anyone read what they were reviewing before passing judgement on politics?
Google is being looked at for slanting searches for and against consumers. How is that going to make the GOP money?
Tin Foil hats for everyone.

fixed that for you ;)

seriously they probably ARE fishing the political waters to see who this comes across. They need money and something to distract people from other issues. if it floats its a double wind for them

If some of you had actually read the article instead of jumping on the soapbox right off you'd see that the concern is whether or not Google skewing search results and manipulating data in such a way that could be harmful to certain businesses and thus unfairly benefit their competitors. All they're saying is that they're reviewing the information to see if there's an evidence of something naughty going on and if there's anything worth pursuing. That's not politics, that's enforcing the law, which is what the government is supposed to do. You do want someone to make sure big companies are obeying the law, right?
