Google freezing IE9

So I leave for a business trip on Sunday and come back Wednesday night. Some update to Google in the meantime freezes my browser every time I go to google.com. The cursor blinks in the search box, but I can't click anything - not other tabs, not exit, I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL out.

Anyone know of any updates recently or have had a similar issue? I'm quite honestly shocked to have an issue like this with Google - the only thing I notice is some changes to the top bar where it now says "You" on the top left.

Have you run IE9 without any add-ons?
Have you enabled software rendering in Internet Options?

While in IE9, press F12. On the Script tab, press Start debugging. Navigate to www.google.com. Do you see any errors on the console?
