Google Fixed Flash Exploit in Chrome

It looks like Google got tired of waiting for Adobe to fix Flash and decided to do it themselves. While that is good news for Chrome, Firefox and IE users have to wait for the official patch.

Google has fixed a critical Adobe Flash Player bug that is being exploited in the wild - but only for its own Chrome browser. Users of Flash Player in other browsers will have to wait for Adobe's official patch, which will require testing against around 60 platforms and configurations.

If I were feeling particularly irrational, I'd say that Adobe Flash is extremely secure, light on system resources and necessary for a rich internet experience.

Today I am not feeling irrational. Maybe tomorrow.

Maybe they've fixed it in the last couple days, but for about two weeks now one of those Chrome updates broke being able to add attachments in gmail. Rather annoying when your workplace is on google apps. As their attachment system uses flash, I wonder if that's why they fixed it.
