Google Docs Question

I have to say, I'm really not that impressed with the features and options. That being said, I'm having trouble with one simple task. I am trying to create a spreadsheet that has 7 columns across. I want all 7 to be the same width, but I can't figure this out. Google searching only turns up options that aren't available to me, or HTML settings to set a fixed percentage. How would I access the HTML code of the document? Export it, edit the code, and then upload it again?

Would it be better to create a table for the 7x10 fields that I need in the Doc (Word) equivalent? Would I have the table percentage options if I did it this way instead?

I was able to do this by dragging across the columns to highlight them all, then pull on the divider on the last one to stretch them all evenly.
