Google’s Chrome market share is up almost one percent compared to the previous month. Yay?!?

Google's Chrome browser jumped to 9.27 percent in November from 8.5 percent in October, which could be a sign that Chrome OS netbooks are being used by Googlers. Google's Chrome Web browser surged to 9.27 percent market share in November, up from 8.5 percent in October, according to the latest statistics from Net Applications.

Using it right now and I have zero complaints. I realize this is entirely subjective but it really does just feel "snappier" than IE/Firefox.

Yeah, that's just it. Using IE/Firefox now feels like wearing full battle gear when Chrome is a tight body suit with no pockets.

Although I do sometimes miss all the extra junk.

Yeah, I'm using Chrome too right now with no complaints, although I use the other browsers too seemingly randomly. I'm weird like that.

I just couldn't get my Adblock to work quite right with Chrome. So I am sticking with Firefox for the meantime.

hehe... fond memories about an article not too long ago claiming it was one of the worst browsers in term of security holes. I wonder if this is going to become a growing concern with IT professionals who have to service (especially unpatched) machines it runs on...

This is the only piece of software I've never gotten to install on any my systems; the installer immediately upon running it goes to "not responding".

Last week I got excited when I saw Google Earth had the option to also install Chrome along with it. Earth installed, but the moment it went to install Chrome, "not responding".

Guess it's just not meant to be. Wonder if I'm the only one? No idea what's up, but it's not just a single computer on my end though, either.

Using adblock is counterproductive -- Websites either make money from ads or they make it from paywalls, and with Flash being powered by gpu now in most cases, it doesn't kill my cpu cycles.

On another note, some of these may be from google TV. What is the browser in Android devices classified as?

What logic is this? Do you ever mute the volume on you TV when a commercial is on?
Yes? Screaming salesmen annoy you? Congratulations you are human.
Same with blocking ads on web pages. THEY ARE ANNOYING and distracting.
Looking for information and a video jumps up in front of what you are reading and trying to sell you skin moisturizer? That is PUSH CONTENT at it's worst.

firefox uses like 1gb of memory, crashes a lot, and isn't as fast as chrome. also the latest beta's have weird text issues..

I have been a chrome user for quite a while now, I find compat to be getting better by the day of all the site I have had issues with (maybe 1%)

My biggest complaint is printing from chrome, and its perverse lack of options while doing so.

Steve

What does [H]ard see from its viewers? I assume it would be higher among "tech" users?

If this is sarcasm, excellent job on balancing the razor-thin line between obvious and non-obvious.

Assuming for a moment that it *isn't*:

1) What the hell are you doing with Firefox that induces 1GB of memory usage?

2) Text issues in FF4 beta are because of GPU acceleration. There is a setting to disable this in the regular options.

Lighten up and enjoy life a little. They're not out to get you.

By the way, Refresh Yourself, Enjoy Yourself, Enjoy Coca Cola!

:D

They need to fix the gif glitch. MANY people have issues with gifs and chrome.

If there's more than a single gif on a page, the entire window freezes and becomes unresponsive, sometimes for 5-10 seconds. This makes threads, like the funny image thread in Genmay, unbearable to use.

I guess it's back to FF until they fucking fix this.

I recently upgraded from Firefox 3.5 to 3.6 series ... and something has gone bad with Firefox pausing/stuttering a lot. Other people concur. I find myself using Chrome more and more.

But yeah, I guess none of the browsers are glitch free. I want to try that new "tab stacking" feature in Opera.

Yeah, Im gonna have to say something is borked on your system or my sarcasm detector is broken.

Like a previous post said, all browsers have issues.

Can't edit my own post?

Also wanted to suggest to add " --enable-aero-peek-tabs" to the chome shortcut to enable Aero tabs in Google Chrome in Windows 7

\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe –enable-aero-peek-tabs

I tried using Chrome, I really did, but it's such unintuitive garbage. Everything is hidden by layers and layers of menus. You can't customize the UI. You can't puts the tabs below the URL bar, the downloading is annoying. The fact that practically everything requires another tab to be opened instead of a separate window is an issue onto itself. And the bookmark handling is just plain garbage.

Nothing can compare to Firefox's extensibility and ease of use in my eyes. Opera approaches the extensibility but not the ease of use.

Firefox 4 life.

But I use all major browsers pretty often, as a web developer.

One thing I hate about Chrome... that I was just reminded about while working in another tab, is Googles inability to fix an issue where you have multiple tabs open and you accidentally click the "X" and instead of just closing the active tab or giving you a warning about closing all tabs, it just closes chrome and you loose anything you were working on. This is no big deal if just browsing and turn on the feature for restoring tabs when you start chrome, but if you are typing in a forum or filling in any online data type forms fields and you ACCIDENTALLY do this, you're screwed! FIX IT GOOGLE! NOW!

Chrome is banned from all machines in the Army. IE is preferred, but FF is tolerated. I've personally use FF for several years now, and I love it.

Opera would be the best browser if they allowed extensions/add-ons. Firefox is a bloated mess now imo, but I still bare with it because of some add-ons that I use.

firefox has been slow as hell for me on every system i have it out on. I find myself using ie8 and work and 9 here at home. I really miss some aspects of firefox, but too many problems interacting with dynamic content right now.

From my experiences, I have found that both Chrome and Opera use significantly more memory than Firefox with the same tabs open while not being all that much faster. I mean, there's a difference but considering we're talking about sub-second times here and "feelings", I just haven't found Chrome/Opera compelling enough to stop using Firefox as my main browser and I've tried them both extensively.

chrome's awesome for translation imho.

Awesome with a capital A

LOVE Chrome....BTW version 8 was released yesterday. I am still waiting on 3d acceleration.........

Mine does this too, Firefox has had a memory leak for as long as I can remember. If I leave it on all the time as I do with my web browsers I can watch Firefox slowly creep up to easily over a gig.

I know I'm not along with this issue also. Just Google firefox memory leak and you find thousands of hits.

I don't want to thread crap, but I really think its between Chrome and Opera right now. They are really driving the future. Granted yes Opera doesn't have the huge user base, but if you try version 11 its quite impressive and spanks everything else out there with its speed and features.

I like Chrome, I just don't like the data mining behind the scenes with it.

If you are concerned with the data mining in Chrome then you could just use SRWare Iron:
