Ever since I've been using Chrome since it was originally launched, I have had an ongoing problem where pages fail to load as the cache gets filled up. The tab icon spins endlessly without loading the page. The only way to resolve it is to clear the cache, which I do weekly.

I have seen this behavior on all of my systems in both Windows and Mac OSX. I have friends and family members who also experience this behavior.

I've never had to do a weekly cache purge in other browsers, so I'm just wondering if it's a common thing or not? I have a friend who uses Chrome and says he has never seen this behavior. Am I doing something wrong??

I recently switched back to Chrome from Fx and running stable (17.0.963.79 m but I can date back and include the previous few stable releases as well) I have not had this problem myself.

On occasion my Chrome install does the same thing. Ill open a few tabs and they'll just sit there and load without ever doing anything. It'll eventually stop and give me an error.

My Chrome pretty much died a week or two ago. Every page would load but inevitably stall.

Luckily, reinstalling restored everything to normal.

Had a similar problem where certain sites would rarely load on the first attempt (newegg comes to mind). I could always fix it by clicking in the address bar and hitting enter to reload, which never failed. I just tried to reproduce it again but could not, maybe it's been fixed.
