Has anyone tried Google Analytics? It's pretty cool if you ask me. I have it installed on my website, so give me some hits so I can tell you guys how it works.... :p It seems to work great, and it shows anything you can imagine about your users.

i'm still waiting to get my code from Google Analytics, in the meantime i'm using StatCounter. Kinda depressing actually, i get like 5 hits/day

I'm supposing that you get your data when someone loads that javascript file.

what happens when somone goes to your site and filters off everything from google-analytics.com?

I am guessing that I won't see it. But, alas, most of my users won't block the Javascript file.

how does this differ from say the stat programs built into c-panel x? or is it just for people that don't have that kind of stuff? like with free webhosting and shit?

it's much more powerful than any stats program i've seen though c-panel or webalizer/analog. it's more of a commercial grade analytics package where there is much more data stored and you can do more with that data.

graphs are drawn on the fly, you can view data from any range with ease, it integrates with a adwords/ppc account, there are novel features such as site overlay to view your site with links marked on the screen, you can define funnel goals for conversions etc. just the fact that i feel i can get reliable screen res and browser version stats for a site in 10 seconds without trawling a log file has helped me.
