Hi, gang:

EXPERT SUGGESTIONS NEEDED!

I had a perfectly stable system yesterday.... Newegg combo. Antec 650 Trio + TForce 550 + 3600 X2 + Freezer Pro 64 + 4 GB Super Talent 667 at 4-4-4-11-15 2T, (757 MHz) = TOTALLY STABLE @ 2.6 GHZ (moderate OC from 1.9).with a lil extra CPU V, RAM at 2.1 V. NO PROBS EVER.

I had to get a 5000+ BE, though, and goofy BS is afoot...

Set her at 3.2 using new unlocked multis only. Tested okay in Memtest. Ran Orthos for 2 hours b4 bedtime. Woke up to a strange message. At 2.6 hours, one core pooped out a message that went something like this: INVALID SUMOUT. o errors, maximum warnings (100). Test Stopped.

WTF? Never seen that before :(

So... I run a few helper apps along with Orthos to see what the heck might be happening...

At start of a new Orthos 0.41.110.18 run, Speedfan shows:

Temp 1 = 127C WOW! :)
Temp 2 = 19c
Temp 3 = 40 C
Temp = 40C
Temp 1 = 15C
Core = 23C
Core = 38C
Ambient 0C
Vcore1 = 1.44
Vcore2 = 1.52 V

BIOS says 1.375 V

CPU-Z 1.4 Says 1.44 V

CoreTemp 0.97.7.1 Says

VID = 1.3
Core0 = 20C
Core1 = 23C

UPDATE: After running orthos for 20 minutes (as I write this) CoreTemp now says my cores are at 15 and 18 C, while SF says 18 and 32C.

I'm SO confused. Why all the different temps? And which is likely to be the most correct?

HELP?

i know it support x2 chips, but i don't know if it will install with your board. hopefully it will but the overclocking features will be disabled, as you only need the temp reading function.

Make sure you are using the latest AOD, 2.0.17 before you decide it doesn't work. That being said, brisbane temp sensors are notorious for just flat out NOT WORKING!

Also, the 5000+ BE is rated at 1.35V. Unless you adjusted the cpu voltage intentionally, I would lower it a bit. This should help temps slightly.

The most accurate cpu temps I get are actually in the BIOS. Granted the cpu is under a partial load in the BIOS, but from here my core temps are usually around 37 deg C. My idle temps from inside windows range from 1-4 deg C using Core Temp :rolleyes: to 22 deg C using SmartGuardian. These are all obviously way too low. :(

Yes, I did try the latest version...and I did intentionally increase the core voltage.

Geez -- even the Biostar utility can't seem to work right :)
