I have a computer on one corner of my bedroom that I want to hook up to a monitor on the opposite side (to be used as a TV with PVR software). The monitor needs to run at 1280x768 at 60 Hz (it's an LCD). It's going to be about 13-15 ft total if you include the difference in height.

There is a 5 ft (or so) monitor cable that I used to connect to my monitor on the opposite side of the room. I bought a 10 ft extension cable from Best Buy and hooked it up. There is some ghosting, as I expected.

Is there any way I might be able to get rid of the ghosting? Or is it something that I can't get rid of when I am using this long of a length of cable and this resolution? Might a higher quality cable help, if someone could recommend one? Any advice appreciated, thanks!

VGA extensions sometimes make things look bad. I have a friend who used an extension and the picture looked horrible. He replaced the two 6' cables with a single 10' cable and it cleared everything up. Check monoproce.com. Look at the high quality VGA cables with ferrites. http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...&cs_id=1020105&p_id=276&seq=1&format=2&style=

As to the ghosting, I cannot comment. The above situation was dealing with a CRT. For the best picture, however, I always try to stay away from extensions.

Thanks for the advice!

I think that that cable would work a whole lot better than what I have now - first there's the extension and neither cable has ferrites. I went to the link and read the reviews, and everyone said that it works fine for them. I don't know how accurate those reviews are but I'll give it a shot and hopefully it will work better. And it's cheaper than the cable I bought at BB anyway.
