Good upgrade?

My current system specs are:

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0ghz
CPU Cooler: AMD Stock CPU Heatsink/Fan
Motherboard: Asus K8V Deluxe
Ram: 1GB Corsair Valueselect DDR400
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128mb
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live 5.1!
Hard Drive: Western Digital 80gb ATA100
Floppy: Panasonic 1.44mb Floppy Drive
DVDrom: LiteON 16x DVDrom
CD Burner: LG 52x24x52x CDRW
Connection: Eastlink Cable Modem
Operating System: Windows XP Pro

Keyboard: Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech Optical MX500
Monitor: Samsung 753DF 17" Flat
Speakers: Logitech Z-5300 5.1 THX speakers 280w RMS
Headphones: Sennheiser HD477
Case: Antec Super Lanboy midtower
Power Supply: Enermax FM 350w

The two upgrades I was thinking of doing are:
-BENQ FP757V2 17" LCD (12ms, 450:1, 260/m^2, 1280x1024, Dsub, $359 Canadian)
-Chaintech Apogee 6800GT (350mhz core, 1000mhz memory, 256mb DDR3, $540 Canadian)

Are these worthwhile upgrades, and is there anything else you can think of that I should consider. It should be noted that I'm going to university in September 2005, and I don't think I need a laptop for undergraduate science. But feel free to discuss that topic as well.

If you're a gamer, then yes. A 9500 Pro to 6800GT represents a very decent jump. Your PSU should be up to the task, but I'd set aside a few funds just in case.

You could also consider an Audigy 2 ZS, as you have a very decent set of speakers.

Yeah I would suggest a better videocard. A 6800gt would be a big jump from your current videocard...

Sounds good, I'm upgrading from my Radeon 9500 Pro too. I already have a Benq 17" LCD, the FP767, which is a 16ms LCD. It's a great screen. I'm going with an XFX GF6800 with an NV Silencer 5, in the hope that I can mod it, but if you have the money the GT sounds like a good choice.
