Good temperature sensor?

Way back several years ago when I had a Xaser III case it had a built in temperature sensor with wires that were so thin you could weave them between the pins of your cpu and tape it to the bottom of the cpu to get extremely accurate temperature readings. Is there a good piece of hardware that will fit in a 3.5" or 5 1/4" bay with similar abilities? It seems to me that most motherboards report temperatures that aren't very accurate so it would be nice to have an accurate reading. Thanks.

heh, thanks...i took a look at it and the instructions show the thermal probe taped so that it's just barely touching the edge of the top of the cpu...

I was hoping for one like I described although I haven't seen one like that since my Xaser III case and I don't know if it's even possible to get one of those types of sensors anymore...

How accurate would a probe be that is touching the very edge of the processor as opposed to one taped directly to the center of the bottom?

There is another, just search for my posts. Accuracy of those probes can be pretty bad for our needs sometimes.
