One of the higher-priced APC or Tripp-Lite models that contains a choke-capacitor line/RF filter in addition to the MOVs because not only does the line filter stop some surges the MOVs can't touch (like those from laser printers, fluorescent lamps, big electric motors), but usually the manufacturer puts in more or heavier MOVs in such models. But some companies claim their products contain a line filter even when it consists of nothing but a single capacitor (some Belkins are like that).
 
Here's Consumer Reports Jan. 2000 test of surge supressors. Apparently all the APC models performed well, contrary to what I wrote earlier,

Sorry man, but results from 2000 aren't exactly valid in present day.
