Good steppings

I think you mean 'who' has them

And (from personal experience) I don't think the week or steppings really matter so much on a Conroe/Allendale.

You can get a bad chip, no doubt. But its a lot of luck either way.

Edit: That is aside from the engineering/prerelease ones,

I believe ALL of the retail/OEM chips sold since launch have been the same stepping.

Some of the ES's were from different steppings.

Core2's have been selling like hot cakes everywhere, so you should get a new shipment ( = newer week) no matter where you get it from. The newer the week, usually the better. IE: the first chips.... week 23-25 were not as good of overclockers as the more recent weeks 29-31, etc.

I just got a week 27 E6400 from newegg. Ordered a E6600 today, will post what week it is when I get it.

Its possible some weeks are better then others, but its a lot of luck.

My week 31 doesn't oc past 3.1ghz. BUT it could be my ds3. idk... I also have an e6600, not e6300.

I'm saddened, but jan/feb I'm hoping for a p5b
