I know that somewhere on these forums or on HardOCP itself I read an article about what too look for in an LCD monitor if one intends to play games on them but for some reason I can't find it now. I mean I know that the lower the response time the better but what about contrast ratio?

I don't have an LCD monitor yet and lately I've really been wanting one. Well, as it turns out, so would the wife so she has given me permission to get one with one of my next two paychecks if I can find one that isn't too expensive. So basically what I'm looking for is a good gaming grade LCD that is less than $400. Also I would prefer a 19" monitor but as long as it's at least 17" then that's fine.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks,

well overall the lcd is a good option, and im heavily satisfied with the purchase of mine. The draw back of lcd's though is the amount of colors and response time. Colors isn't a big deal unless your a designer, etc. the new line of lcds now have really low response times.. mine is 16ms and it plays each game great.. no ghosting, and now the standard is becoming 12ms so thats even better.
