Good Silent PSU

I'm torn between an Enermax and a Seasonic. Which one of those is better? Which one is more silent?

I would need this PSU for my Conroe build. Also, should I go with a PSU higher than 500W?

Thank you

Both make really good PSUs, but Seasonic's are more silent. What videocard(s) are you going to use, and are you going to run a RAID array.

I'm not going to get a really high end videocard, probably a 7600gt.

And yes, I'm thinking about running a RAID setup.

What type of RAID though? RAID0 is shown to not do anything but make you more vulnerable to drive failure.

Seasonics are quieter.

So definetely a Seasonic then? Are they more reliable as a PSU than Enermex?

Also, which Seasonic model do you recommend?

and are the Seasonic and the Enermex the most silent PSUs on the market?

You could just buy a passively cooled PSU, such as one of those Phantoms (don't know what company makes 'em). I got an Enermax Liberty 500W. :D

From what I've heard, they're pretty damn quiet. It's got a 120mm fan, so yeah. :]

RAID setups will suck more power out of your PSU because your constantly accessing multiple HDDs. But with a 7600, you shouldn't need much power. 450W is what I recommend. And kelim, Antec makes the Phantoms.

ok, now i'm really torn between the Season S12 500W and the Enermex Libery 500W.

I know that the Seasonic is more silent than the Enermex, but I know the Enermerx has modular cables. Speaking of which, why is it better to have modular cables and what do they really represent? Sorry my ignorance but I really can't figure it out.

And also, is the quality on those 2 brands similar? Is one performing better than the other one? Silence is important to me, but I rather have a PSU that works better if it comes down to that.

Thank you.

P.S I tried to register on XS forums, and I can't. I haven't received any emails with the confirmation, even though I tried different usernames with different emails. Am I missing something?

Modular is just so it's easier to clean up the cables on the insides. Less cables to work with, but definatly no substitute for good wire management.

Quality on both are superb. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either. It's really your choice. Is a bit of bling worth the extra silence? Both are very quiet too.

Thank you for your response. I guess I'll choose the one that is cheaper at the time I will order.

also, one more thing: 430W or 500W?

My system will probably be something like: E6600 Conroe, 2GB RAM, 2-3 SATA HD, 7600GT, Lian Case with 2 fans, a heatsink

Which PSU should I go with?
