Is this a good psu for my system?

amd 64 3000+ s939 Cheapest s939 cpu but will be overclocked to 2.0ghz probably!

I know the best are ocz powerstream , enermax noisetaker , antec true control 550w atx2.0, zippy, and pcpower and cooling. Aspire,Coolmax,Epower,Hiper I'm a little spectical about getting but those newer psu's i dont need becuz my system isnt sli nor is it pci express! my mobo is a 20 pin + a 4 pin near cpu its a socket 939 that supports u guess it AGP8X! which ill be putting a x850xtpe in that agp8x slot :D and that's like the best agp card on the market besides 6800gt/ultra

Aspire, Coolmax are pretty much russian roulette...while ePower's are Topower and are generally decent.
I would still need to know a budget for your PSU. Things like the Xclio 450w would be good as would a number of others...but a budget would be helpful :)
 
I'm not gonna get a pci express motherboard because the 4x agp bus is not even saturated...YET... but with a good 6800u or x850xtpe on agp8x i dont need pci-x just a 64bit system...and i dont need a sli/pcx psu...just a good one that can keep my system stable on full load... those psu's look good but is the antec the best one? i have never heard of the other ones are they just as good?
 
Yeah i don't need SLI / PCI - Express just a good PSU for my system! and I think that the aspire 520W is a good one ? or is it like playing russian roulette?

Out of all the good choices given above, you really should think about gettin the Antec SP 500w, the aspire is too risky for any of us to recommend you buying (more likely than not, it would cause you problems). The Antec is more than enough for your setup.
 
my mobo has a 20 pin and a small 4pin near cpu so i need a good 20pin psu the aspire might not be that good so i decided to go with the epower tagan 480w it doesnt have the -5v missing in newer psu's

so it's settled ill put the tagan in my wishlist it looks nice too two 80mm fans and some ventilation holes so it can breathe good for cooling and it has two pci express 12v rails are 20A each 40A total alot of power!!!! man i bet that can power my system and still have alot of headroom is epower good like antec ocz zippy pcpowerandcooling ???

WRONG.

Good power supply but I must squash misconceptions. RAILS ARE NOT ADDITIVE. The combined 12V capability is 30A, not 40A.
 
is the epower as stable and good like antec enermax ocz pcpowerandcooling

I like the dual fan design one bringing air in and another bringing air out i bet the power supply will run cool also i notice there vents underneath so the pcb can breathe also my psu uses a 20 pin so it needs the -5v

As stable as an Antec, Enermax or PCP&C? No way. As stable as an OCZ? Alomst. The Powerstream is based on the Topower P6 and the Tagan is a P5.
 
so the epower is NOT a powmax right? 480w is usually cheap but this one is kinda expensive but it's worth it but its a mobo with 20pin not 24pin so i dont think the one with -5v missing would work? or no?

Who said ePower was Powmax? Jesus... who starts these rumors?
 
newer 24pin power supplies have one pin missing i think its the -5v cuz it dont need it but for other 20pin mobos it wont post?
 
I don't know what that has to do with ePower being made by Powmax.. That's what I was reacting to.

-5V was removed from the ATX spec.

Even if you had a power supply w/o a -5V rail, your PC would likely work fine.

I can only think of one board that didn't work when used with a -5V rail and that's an MSI board and it still posts.... just your sound didn't work.
 
is pci express a good investment over agp? 6800u and x850xtpe are best agp cards out now but will be surpassed by 7800 and x1300/1600/1800 but should i just invest in a good pci express mobo ??? cuz im getting that new xbox360 and most of new pc games also will be made for xbox360 :/
 
If you are totally upgrading your entire system why not go with PCIE? It's not like you currently have a strong AGP card that you want to continue using.

If you're on a budget, it's hard to beat the FSP Group power supplies. The HP desktops we deployed last year in my organization (2100 of them, to be exact) have FSP power supplies, and we've yet to see a PSU failure (now, hard drives - that's another story).

My personal pick if you aren't on a budget is Seasonic. 3-year warranty, low ripple, stable voltages. They are also more efficent and quieter than the average new PSU.
