I'm planning to upgrade my system to an ASUS A8N SLI Premium with an AMD 64 3200+ Venice CPU. No plans to do SLI yet but maybe in the future, my video card is going to be the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC.

My picks of power supplies were the FSP AX400-PN or the Fortron AX450-PN (which isn't listed on their site for some reason). Would 400W be enough power?

I'm undecided because I want to make sure the system is getting quality power without a lot of excess wattage. Any suggestions?
 
Thank you all for the kind suggestions. I am still trying to decide on what would be the best bet. Obviously a 450W or better, SLI-ready isn't necessary, no gaudy LED's and what not, and I would prefer to buy from NewEgg since that is where my stuff will be coming from. Could I request some professional reccomendations within these limits? I'm not well versed in electronics to be quite honest.

This should work since you arent looking for SLI, and just need a nice cheap but stable psu :)
 
Looks like the XClio 450W doesn't exist on NewEgg anymore. :(

Only three PSU's come up under XClio, a 480W, 500W, and 550W.
 
Okay, it looks like the 450W XClio came back to NewEgg!

Should I get the 450W or spend the little extra for the 500W?

Although the 500W "should" be better, I have no experience with it.

I have personally tested (XClio sent both the 400W & 450W) the 450W & it works fine. ;)
