Hey all,

Im thinking about upgrading my ram and I would like to ask your opinion(s) on a product.
My specs:

MSI K7N2 Delta
AMD XP 2600+ Thouroughbred
512 DDR PC2100(2x256)

I am considering buying this:

Now my motherboard says the max is 3200+, but this is 3500+. I am curious as to if my motherboard will support this. Also, do you think this upgrade is worth it? Will i see any differences?
Right now I am running my 2x256(pc2100) in single channel mode. I will run this ram in dual channel mode obviously.

I'm pretty sure you motherboard will be able to use PC3500 RAM (not 3500+, that confused me when I read your post).

Anyways, it's worthless to get PC3500 RAM if you're not going to overclock.

The Thoroughbred 2600+ has a 333 Mhz FSB, so you should be getting PC2700 memory in order to run 1:1.

Also, you say you have 2 sticks of PC2100 in single channel. If your motherboard can utilize it, how come you're not running dual channel already?
 
Hes talkin about buyin some GEIL pc3500 RAM. He already has the MSI mobo.:cool:
 
Most motherboards will accept memory that is of a higher clock rating than the motherboard will accept, because of the backward compatability requirements. I would check the manual and see if there are any compatability issues, or check the MSI support forums. The only case where I have not seen this work is in some older systems that required low density memory, if you used high density ram it would only see 1/2 of the actual memory.

The reason I am not running mine in dual channel right now is because they are two different sticks from two companies and i was having problems getting the system to boot.

So you are saying unless i am going to overclock my CPU, i should get PC2700?
or should i just buy 3200/3500 instead?

and will i see a difference running my system with these higher ram speeds?
