HEY
Any ideas on a good PCI DX9 card for my buddies E machine?
He wants to run Call of Duty and can't get his voodo card happy
with win XP:eek:

Thanks

It's sorta outside the spec there, pal. DX9 sorta requires AGP in some form.

I believe that there are some FX5200s that come in a PCI version. Obviously they would be double slow as its a 5200 and PCI, and some would say its not really a DX9 card, but its as close as you'll get.

Call of Duty is OpenGL not DX9, I'm pretty sure most PCI cards can run OpenGL

Thanks All

wow. just tell him to get a new computer
I tried to sell him mine but
His wife wants a new couch go figure:D
COD site says a DX9 compliant card is needed.
Anything should be better than the onboard intel solution,no?

Difference from needing a card that works with DX9 and a card that supports all of the DX9 features. You'd probably be fine with GF4mx/5200 or Radeon 9000/9100/9200.

Of course, if you look on Pricewatch, they've got one PCI GeForce FX 5600 listed...
