I'm building my first computer and I want to oc, I was just wondering what a good case for ocing would be, I don't really care about other features, even though they might be nice.
Thanx in advance!

wtf?? i dont think it really matters what case you are getting is you are going to OC, but in my opinon you should get a lian li case

If you dont want to cut them yourself, make sure the case you have has lots of fan holes all over it for intake and exhaust. (that is unelss your watercooling or TEC. You need a goot 350W or better PSU. 400W would be just fine for anything you could throw at it. I have a cheapo 350W and have two CCFLs, a BG Micro 20x2 VFD, 4 fans (one is an LED fan), and of course the computer all running fine off of it.

ever hear of an "airflow"

I'd suggest getting a case that can accomodate 2 80mm rear fans (or 1 120mm fan), 2 80mm front intake fans (or 1 120mm fan). Now that was minimum... a side panel fan and top fan would be nice... provided that you'll be aircooling... if you're gonna be watercooling all that matters is space...

completely agree, if you going to overclock and not use water cooling ... you NEED to have excellent airflow. Get a case with plenty of fans, and a high end HSF (Zalman).

coolcases.com

Best airflow out of any case you could find, a bit pricey for the completely modified ones =)

Since airflow is everything take a look at the cross ventalion of the case. Are there fans that blow from one side into anther on the other. That's called 1:1 air flow. Thats good. Make sure the case you get is large enough to house a monster heat sink or water unit pending your budget. I've always found Full towers the easyest things to work in. Plus they are a wonderful canvis for modding. But larger towers are not quite moble as my system ways more then my 21" monitor.

Basicly things to keep in mind:
Are there more fans blowing in then out. -EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT
Will it hold your colling system -Usally work aroundable

Remember heat builds up in small cases thus makes OCing very hard. Good luck.

Suggestion: CoolMaster Patorian (TAC-101 I belive the model is)
Directron.Com Full Matrix

Oh yea if it comes with a PSU, it's not worth buying.

TO THE EXTREAM!

To your point, yes, positive pressure is good for a case since it can help keep dust out (assuming you have filters on your fans), but I have found that whenever your case is above or below zero pressure, it tends to be louder.

Lian-Li PC70.

go to the G[H] forum, look @ tweak guide, look for airflow guide, it tells you how to do it :)

^ dont listen to mr n00b here....even if you do get watercooling, you need plenty of intake and lots of exhaust fans...why?
1. Simple watercooling doesnt cut it for real OCers
2. WTF do you think a waterblock does? simple, transfers heat from the processor to the case...guess what? YOU NEED FANS TO GET IT THE HELL OUT OF YOUR CASE!
3. If you dont get a decent amount of fans, it will still just sit there, and you need blowhole..
4. What the hell do you think it takes to cool that water?...RADIATOR...guess whats gets pretty damn hot...radiator...

"n00b" very helpfull.... you must be l337 then huh? I think everyone here realizes you need fans on your rad. Way to go calling me a n00b tho... whew, that was really clever. (y)

very nice post, im sure it is very informative. Anyhow, no you dont just need fans on your radiator with watercooling.

you are a moron.

The idea is that you have a radiator connected somewhere in your case with a fan behind it and will blow the air directly out. In that case, you dont need as much air circulation on the inside as someone on air cooling because the main heat sources are being dissipated through the water, which is already being blown directly out.

So why dont you:
a) lose the attitude
b) relax
c) stop using ellipses

All the waterblock does is TRANSFER HEAT, it transfers heat FROM THE PROCESSOR to the REST of the case, why dont you get that fat cock out of your ear and realize...YOUR A FUCKING DUMBASS

Well, I must be a "n00b" then because I actually thoght the waterblock transfered the heat to the water, which then ran into the radiator which then heated up the fins in the radiator. (not the whole case). You then blow air over the fins of the radiator and out of your case... *shrug* I didnt know the whole Idea of watercooling was to heatup the case.

Apparently you didn't read anything that I or anyone else has said. If you want to make a valid argument, you need to actually refute the points that other people have made instead of capitalizing words and using ellipses for emphasis.
