Picked up a KVM that supports VGA and USB KB&M and it shimmers like Dorty's Ruby Red slippers. Think I'm going to return it.

I need a suggestion for a KVM that supports VGA and USB KB&M that does not screen shimmer on a LCD panel @ 60hertz.

Thanks.

I like the price. So no shimmer/fuzzyness at all?

I am using it with my Dell 2209WA and the picture quality is the same as if I was connected drictly to the comp (ASUS N71JQ-A1) and any other computer that I am fixing for friends/customers.

I do not know what shimmer is, but it is not fuzzy in spite of the fact that it is a VGA connection. Your issue may be that your display does not handle VGA well. If that is true then you will need a DVI KVM which is a lot more money (arround $100 at monoprice.com). In my experience Dell LCDs do VGA very well.

Shimmer to me is when the screen gets fuzzy for a moment around the edges, like it's sparkling, then goes back to crisp image.

I've tried the unit I bought on 2 different machiens and it still does the fuzzy/shimmer stuff on the other one as well.

I am using this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817399056
and I am happy with it. Read the reviews for more.

Picked one of these up. So far so good. No display issues at all.

The one thing I did notice with this KVM and the last one I tried is it seems to mess with my refresh rate. My monitor supports 60 and 75hz. Normally I have to run 60 hz to get a crisp image. With both this KVM and the last one, I have to run 75hz; 60hz now looks like how 75hz did without the device in between .. a little fuzzy. It's almost like they flipped the refresh rate...

Anyone else notice that?
