Good idea for an upgrade?

Hey guys! I'm about to pull the trigger on this new hardware. My current rig is in my signature. I'm going to sell the components I have now that I want to upgrade to a friend. Here's the plan:

e6600 @ 3.6ghz w/ Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme --> Core i7 920 @ (>?)3.6ghz w/ TRUE
eVGA 8800GTX --> eVGA GTX 285
eVGA 680i SLI --> eVGA X58
2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer --> 6GB G.SKILL DDR3 1600
And add a WD Caviar Black 1TB HD.

As a side note, I'm also throwing in a Garmin nuvi 265T and a Logitech G25. Any thoughts? :p

What does this look like to you guys? Do you have any suggestions? Is this a good idea?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't answer the "build help" questions! Here they are:

Thanks for all the responses. I'm sorry about not answering the questions; I'll answer here and put edit them back into the first post.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
I'll be gaming on a 1920*1200 Samsung T260HD. I'll also be doing Photoshop/Video editing with Premiere.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
My budget is fairly flexible. I believe one can get a decent picture of what I'm looking for. Currently, the total for the core parts (MB, GPU, CPU, HD, Heatsink, and RAM) is $1189 without tax/shipping, and about $30 more with it. I'd like to stay around there. Going lower never hurts if I'm doing something unneccessary, though :)

3) Where do you live?
I live close to Boston.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
For my budget, I need a motherboard, a GPU, a CPU, a new hard drive, a heatsink, and RAM.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I'll be reusing my case (Silverstone TJ-09BW), my DVD burner (Asus 1814-BLT), my sound card (SB X-Fi Fatal1ty), my current hard drives (I currently have four, a couple of which may be replaced with a new HD. One of those is a Raptor X.), and finally, my PSU (A Corsair 620HX).

6) Will you be overclocking?
I plan to overclock, yes. Hopefully as high as 4GHz.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I have a 24.5" Samsung T260HD. 1920*1200 resolution.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Soon. Hopefully even tonight.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
I don't need RAID, but it'd be nice to have. (I thought all X58 boards had RAID anyway, is this correct? Just curious.) Firewire would be nice. SLI support is a plus, but I don't think I plan to go above 2 cards; tri-SLI is probably not neccessary. A decent number of SATA ports would be nice - I have 5 SATA drives, with a sixth one coming in this order.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
Yes.

Whether its a build request or not, it would be helpful to answer the questions. Sure, it looks good, but if he wants better advice, we'll need more info. We're just trying to help a bit more. ;) He asked if it was a good idea... I can't say unless I have more info. But yes, the quick answer is that it looks fine (no striking incompatibilities). A more refined answer would need more info. I could type out why each part would be a good or bad idea depending on usage, but I'd be wasting time -- much easier if that usage info was provided instead. lt_shiro was just trying to be more helpful.

I'd go with the 6GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 kit that runs at 1.5v and has 9-9-9-24 timings. You won't notice a difference between the timings but will have the advantage of having your RAM run at a lower voltage. Ultimately, it's up to you.

I personally think the Garmin 265WT is one of the best units. It's fast and has free traffic for life.

You could, theoretically, pick up a Thermalright LGA1366 mounting bracket and reuse the TRUE that you currently have with your new Core i7 system. (Which fan are you using to cool it?)

My personal opinion in regards to the hard drives is that you keep the Raptor X as the OS HDD, put as much data as you can onto the new WD Black 1TB HDD, and sell all of the other HDDs.

Yeah, that's a possibility - I haven't done enough research to figure out what the difference is beyond the bracket. Are there any? If not, I'll just reuse my current one. I'm using a Scythe S-Flex - it's either the E or the F version, I can't remember :-|.

Good idea, except for one flaw - all of my other current drives are full, and they total about 800GB. So, the new 1TB is somewhat of a necessity. It's a good idea, though, and it's something I'll attempt. Thanks, tiraides.

I would suggest getting GTX 275 in place of that GTX 285. You are going to get the same level of gameplay from both cards on 24" and the save cash on another 6 GB kit. More ram and happier Photoshop and Premiere will be.
