Good heatsink?

My case is far too noisy for my liking atm. I've come up with this idea that if I get a really good performing heatsink I can afford to either get a quieter fan for my cpu or I will at least be able to turn down the RPM of my current one, therefore quieting it up a bit. So, any recommendations on a good heatsink? I don't mind spending a few quid.

PS. I have an athlon 1.4 atm, but I would like my new heatsink to handle a Athlon 3200 as I'll be upgrading the cpu soon. Thanks

Both my thermalright slk-900a and my Thermaltake tr2-m2 cooled my xp 2100 very well..

Thermalright keeps it from 28-31 idle/load with ceramique (cost $20 on sale at svc) and some generic svc 80mm fan on it.

Thermaltake kept it at 36-42 idle/load with ceramique(cost 13 bucks new off ebay)

Price: ThermalTake SilentBoost
Quietest: Zalman CNPS7000A-(Al)Cu
Alternate to Zalman: ThermalRight SP-97 fan is ur choice depending on quiet level u want
