Well I recently moved and had to get rid of my 19" dell crt, I have become used to the size of a 19" screen and a res of 1280x960, I really want to keep the size however the res is flexable. Now from what I have seen the viewsonic VP191B seems to be a good one. Anyone have good/bad experiences with it? Anything better? (I really dont want the price to go up to much more) What difference will I notice going from the blue VGA cable to DVI?
 
The L90D+ Hunydai ( I cant spell that ) is getting good reviews. New egg sell em cheap, 8 ms response time.
 
My vote goes to Viewsonic VP191b, sorry I can't give you any personal experience as you requested since I don't own one but I haven't seen any review that's less than raving about it. Plus I've owned several Viewsonic CRTs in the past and they were excellent displays.

Or, wait for another $400 deal on 2005FPW.
 
Although it can't quite compete with the L90's price, if you want great performance and kick ass looks, check out the LG1980U. I believe it's around 390 after rebates on newegg right now. Keep in mind though, I'm biased because I own one!

love this monitor, and I recommend it strongly.

1280x1024 is just right for 19 inches

Availability is pretty bad; the only review I've seen was negative, but the word from a few posters here is that it is good. I haven't got a good impression of it, but I'd like to see more reviews.

I own one and it is superb. Since it is very new, I don't believe that it has been professionally reviewed yet, but I wouldn't really care because I trust my own eyes and had return privileges. I saw two reviews of OTHER manufacturers' monitors that use the same panel but since they weren't Samsung, they were not valid for the 193p+ anyway. Both the Viewsonic and Samsung VA Overdrive 19" panels were on my short list. Unlike the Viewsonic, the Samsung was available at Future Shop and Best Buy, so that I could try it at home and return it for any reason if I didn't like it. I also preferred Samsung as a company, re reputation, quality control, manufacturer of their own panels, etc. but this is a personal preference, just like some people liking Toyota and others prefer Honda cars. Retailers may not like this advice, but if you can afford to temporarily buy both with return privileges and try them both at home and return one for full refund, then you would really know for sure. Or buy either one, and if you have the slightest objection to anything about it, take it back for full refund and try the other one. I am fully satisfied with the 193p+...after using it for one week there is not one thing about it that bothers me, and I have returned every other LCD monitor I have ever tried (quite a few) over the last couple years, usually after testing it for only a few minutes. So I would suggest you try both ...be patient until you can find a retailer(s) that allows this...you could be looking at this monitor for years to come and it is better to go slow and get the right one.
 
Thanks for your input. Appreciate it. Essentially I'm still debating between the Samsung and Viewsonic right now. Both are MVA/PVA right? The criteria that will help me pick one is clear text, vibrant colors and contrast ratio. I can give a little on response time, but image quality is very important for me, especially if I'm going to pay $450~$500. How much was the Samsung? Also how do you feel 1280 x 1024 is for the 19"? My instinct tells me that a 19" should be higher res, but never having owned an LCD, I don't know.

Can't wait for some reputable website (*hint* *hint* to Kyle & co.) to compare them both.

OT to anyone who knows: Which panel is generally better for IQ, PVA, MVA or S-IPS?
