Good experience with MSI Customer Service

The fans on my MSI R9 290 GAMING 4G were failing to start up unless you gave them a spin manually, so I called MSI customer support. Mind you, I had RMA'd this card in June of '15 for the same reason (with cross-shipment). The card is still under warranty, but they were not able to offer cross-shipment because they were out of stock of the R9 290 4G. I told them that I would call back later in the month to see if the card was available. A few minutes after hanging up with the very nice rep, he called again and offered to upgrade me to a R9 390 8G at no cost. A few minutes later he had my credit card number and the cross-shipment (w/ upgrade) was all set.

Yeah, MSI has good support.

RMA'd a 7950 with rattling fan bearings during the bitcoin craze. They had no replacements due to miners buying up all the 79xx cards, so they just refunded me - $257. Which was over $50 what I paid for the card when I bought it from Amazon pre-bitcoin fad.

MSI is the anti-ASUS.
