Good dvdr burning software?

i'm currently using nero 6 and love it. However, it is an oem version. This limits my speed to 2x for dvdr's and 2.4x for dvdrw's. I've tried three different drives and they've all been limited to 2x, so I'm assuming it was a limitation of the drive the oem software had been designed for. The max speed is listed as 2x even if there isnt a disc in, so it's not a problem of the dvd-r 4x ritek discs i'm using.

I'm currently working on a project to backup a 60gig hard drive to dvdr's. Burning at 2x is simply too slow for such a project.

I'm interested in some (hopefully freeware) data burning software that'll work with dvdrw drives. if it'll do movies as well, it's a bonus.

You won't fine freeware to do something like this, most likely. Second, what drive do you have, and what are the rated speeds?

I would try to get ahold of a copy of DVD X Copy Platinum. Its by far the best.
