hmmm ... can anyone confirm that worth extra $15 for price/performance?

Mikey - tell your friend to be paitent, save $50 more, and by Christmas or maybe the end of this month - he can buy a 6600 GT AGP. Probably the best bang for the buck unless it doesn't perform as good as the PCIE version has so far

Agreed, sit on some money for a little, in all honesty my friend is running CS source 800x600 on a POS fx5200 at a nice frame. Even though that is not all that great he could chug through it for a little while he builds up enough cash to buy a card and see an amazing performance increase.

Will he even benefit from that card on his system? e.g worth the wait + extra $50 ? It is an older version of the p4 being it a 1.5GHz

**RIGHT NOW** what is the best bang for the buck that is UNDER $150.00 ? The 9700np i suggested?

If he has to spend the money in the next 24 hours, go for the 9700. Its a good card, anyone will admit.

If it were me, I'd wait for the 6600GTs to come out in AGP flavor for the best bang-for-the-buck potential....

However, if the vid-card fried, you absolutely have to game for that clan-war in the next 15 mins, go for the 9700.

I'd go with the 9700.

Also, I see all these "if you just spend $ more..." sayings. But why?
He has a p4 1.5 ghz system. Only if he was going to upgrade his mobo/cpu in the near future would I recommend a 6600 gt.
