I am planning to buy a Tt pipe101, wondering what 92mm fan should I get. Something quiet and able to disperse the heat fast. Any suggestions.
 
i use an slk900-a with Enermax 92mm fan w speed dial (47-64cfm @ 28-34db). fan is hard to find.
 
it's not real loud or anything but its not silent. 28 would be pretty quiet, though. this is the aforementioned (i think) enermax fan. i have 1 of the 80mm version and it's a solid fan.
 
Thanks, know where to find links to all the fans 90mm system fans, so I can make a comparison.
The enermax looks cool.

if you want quietness, the only reason you need to know what a tornado is is so you can stay well away from them. a tornado (made by vantec) comes in 80mm/92mm sizes, and has the highest CFM of any DC fan of the respective size. that also comes with the highest noise level too, though.

the enermax is pretty good (i think) another alternative would be a panaflo l1a/m1a. dunno where you'd get a 92mm one, though. they exist, but i haven't seen them.
 
30 dba is "quiet" you will still hear a faint noise.

Tornados? what about deltas?

Andyways, look at the panasonic panoflo fans, they are good

The tornado...is that the one that looks like the turbine engine, silver color, That big fan?
 
The Tornado looks like any other black fan out there. It just happens to make a very loud (55dba) whine when it's on. Of course you could plug it into a rheobus to drop its speed, or switch it with a high, low and off setting so it's only on when needed. Tornados are made by Sunon and then re-packaged and labeled by Vantec.
 
Found out the tornado. Can they make it quiet and retain the CFM.
About the cpu fans, are all the fans the same in the controlling option: Can I manually, or use some front panel to automatically control the fan? The Panaflow doesn't seem controllable.

Sunon Tornado

If you use a speed control to turn the fans down, you will lose the high CFM rating as well as the noise. All fans are pretty much controlable. Speed controllers don't make them run faster, they do their highest speed out of the box, speed control is for making it run slower and quieter. I have a Vantec Stealth 120 on a fanbus, and even though it is already a low CFM and noise fan, I can still turn it down more, the only problem is that it spins at such a low rate, it vibrates constantly.

Well, i guess you cannot have your cake and eat it too...

Both my 80 & 92mm tornados are Sunons.
