So I just grabbed a XFX rx480 4gb, and Ive been really enjoying it.... I would however like to play around with some benchmarking and sadly its not like my 7770 and seems to hate any kind of overclocking whatsoever... I think I'm going to grab an aftermarket cooler to see if I can get it to overclock a bit better...

looking for advice, and before someone says grab a Artic cooler, I'll be the first to tell you I'm not going to spend $90 for a cooler for a $200 card, thats ridiculous...

any ideas?

Have you tried taking it apart and putting some good thermal paste on you card? This should get you a little bit better thermals on your card. Artic MX4 is some good non conductive stuff. I generally see like a 5c drop in load temps vs the junk / poor setup on stock setups. Also NXT makes a kraken g10 I think to use an AIO as mentioned above which would help a ton as it moves the heat away from the card and out of the system. If you are wanting a non AIO solution you might look at Gelid coolers as they are a pretty good bang for the buck, but really you might be better selling your card and gettign one with a better setup.
