I'd switch the 875 board for the P4P800 which is based on the 865PE chipset yet has PAT unlocked and is about 50 dollars cheaper.

I'd then take the saved cash and put it towards a 9800XT...

Concurred. Plus you get the wireless keyboard which is teh win. Click me for binary lovin. Or you can get tge MX Duo here. And you may later regret getting a 17" monitor. Bigger is usually better.
