Good cheap eATX case?

Specs for that board = EE-ATX (vs. EATX you mentioned)

Ahh, Enhanced Extended ATX....oops, missed an E. Thanks for the suggestions. I like the Rosewill ARMOR-EVO but I've never seen that in Canada...wonder if I can get that here too. I'll have to look around, exactly what I'm looking for.

You may need to look at using a "normal" (read E-ATX or ATX) form factor motherboard.
EE-ATX is usually OEM specific use ... ie SuperMicro in this situation.
I don't think an EE-ATX board would mount properly in any of those case I previously listed, though the board may fit in the space.

This case is meant for that board:
SUPERMICRO SuperChassis CSE-745TQ-R800

I can only guess / assume you want this particular board to re-use existing parts(?)
If that is the case, and depending on your needs, look at the more common E-ATX form factor boards from Supermicro (ie X7DWA-N).

You can also look at used Dell PowerEdge 2900 Gen 3 servers on eBay (Canook version) as they use same Socket 771 CPU and FB-DIMM RAM.

Warning: that old equipment = high power bill ....but great space heating abilities :)
 
If you're going with e-ATX, you might as well get a better case especially since the thermal and airflow will become a issue.
 
I am in the same boat: as the six core Westmere EP CPUs dropped to ridiculous cheap on eBay I am very interested in building a machine on two of them and that results in a similar format motherboard. That's why I am necro'ing this thread. It seems the Rosewill THOR V2 supports this format: here http://www.vortez.net/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=14056 is a 345mm wide board -- and the Supermicro EEATX is as long as the EATX standard which the case claims to support. I believe there's no airflow issue in that monstrosity :) I plan on using Noctua NH-U9S heatsinks to avoid any clearance issues. Since I plan to use 80W CPUs I think this will be fine. I am unhappy how there are no top front intake fans but Mountain Mods has a Triple Bay 12 adapter converting 3 5.25" bays into a 120mm fan and they also sell a mesh fan guard so if push comes to shove I could add two Silverstone FHP141 fans to help the airflow ... a little :p I wish the Scythe Mini Ninja would still be available, it'd be perfect!
