I need to get a new CRT monitor, but I only want to spend around $200 for it. I'm thinking of getting a Sony CPD-G400 19 CRT which would run me about $250. What do you guys suggest for my price range? I'll mainly be using this monitor for gamming and image editing if that helps any.

where do you plan on getting the sony

Some website I found using pricewatch (sorry I can't be more specific I don't have access to the bookmark right now).

I would suggest checking out the Samsung 997DF...its around 200 (or less) and it is apparently pretty good. It is, however, not aperture grille but Shadow Mask. The only difference b/w the two apparently though is brightness, although some say you can just turn up the gamma on shadow mask CRTs and it will be just as good as AG

id love to knowe Ive been looking for a sony crt for ever and cant find any new ones

the G400s from SONY is crap, it's manufactured in Mexico and failure rates are higher than Samsung's. G500 and G520s are better. I suggest that you get like a local deal on a 19in CRT. I have seen ones that use SONY tubes(KDS) for as low as 120 in local Office Max deals.
