My friend has an Antec True Power Trio 550w, he is RMAing it, and id be buying the RMA for probably around 60 bucks. Should i buy it or should i get a new one?

If he was a real friend he's sell it to you for less than that. It can be bought for $65-$70 w/o rebate typically. Offer him $50.

for around $50 you can get a 450W VX series PSU from corsair, which is a much better PSU even at 450W.
