Good Buy or just overkill?

i have dsl and the current router is this netgear one

I am thinking of buying this one because it says VPN firewall which i dont understand what it means Ha

is it better to stay with what i have, I dont have problems with the current router
just wondering
i mainly use the net to surf, dl files like game demos, etc
