looking for some software to test stability of my system now that im overclocking thx

I agree with the others and say get prime95. That’s what I use to test stability and I usually let it run for 12 hours.

Also you can use 3dMark2001. It uses your CPU, memory and video card extensively so you can also try that.

i ran it, overnight and when i woke up it said it stopped in 19 minutes.. :(

FATAL ERROR: Rpimdomg was 0.4998912811, expected less than .4

what the hell does that mean?

There is a thread by an admin, B.B.S. that details a good burn in process. Since the search is disabled you may want to PM him and see if he can link you.

Basically it involved running memtest86 for 8+ hours then prime95 on torture for 8+ hours, then looping 3dmark for a while. I'm a little sketchy on the details, but that process should be better than needed.

Ive been using prime95(6-8 hrs), burnk7(2-3hrs), and then memtest86 overnight. I have read some info tho, that states burnk7 AND prime 95 together is a better indicator.

FROM ABXZONE FORUM:
if there is a stability problem BurnK7 will force a Prime95 failure. The problem with BurnK7 alone is that is never reports a failure it just stresses your system. I agree that if you run BurnK7 alone it will raise the CPU temperature to it's highest. I have had configurations that will run Prime95 for hours and hours but fail after 5 minutes once I start BurnK7 along side it.
This is something I'm going to test.

With all the issues with RAM now adays, Memtest86 is the real must as far as burning in a new machine. If you get a single error within an 8 hour period or more then you have issues. All of my system builds get run through memtest86 for 8-24 hours prior to me sending them on to the customer.

I was headed there.... Here's what I do:

....get through Memtest86 and go from there. Prime95 could have found a memory problem.

OT - Phoenix86: just a mod, not an admin....thanks for the promotion....:D

Good luck - B.B.S.
