Good Budget Printer?

I'm thinking about getting a new printer. I'm currently using a 5+ year old Epson Stylus Color 400. I've never had any problems with it until lately where I'll have faint gaps between letters and I constantly have the printer clean the heads every few times I print stuff. I'm looking for suggestions on a cheap printer that is reliable and sturdy, with (hopefully) cheap ink replacement. My budget is about 75. Is there anything in particular I should be looking at? TIA.

Check around for the Canon I470, it's been going on sale for under $40 after rebate. Ink is cheap if you buy third party replacement cartidriges.

I would shop around for a good price on an HP if I were you. HP desktop systems are steaming piles of shit, but I really like their printers. I know that one of their deskjets goes for $80 at Radioshack, so you should be able to find it for 60-70 somewhere else.

Whatever you do, don't buy a LEXMARK! They suck and they are the most expensive printers to own in terms of cost/page.

Another vote for Canon here. Best thing with those printers is that you don't pay way too much for a new cartridge.

Fry's has an HP printer for $40 +tax out the door (no rebates). Looks like a pretty nice printer to me for any ordinary use. Probably won't be the BEST photo printer, but i'm sure i'd do the job if you needed it to be one. Don't know if you have a Fry's near by, but it's always an option.

Like 6 months ago, i got a Lexmark printer for $20 off of staples.com. Thing works perfectly fine for what it's being used for. I call those type of printers "disposable" since you can purchase a new printer cheaper then you can to buy replacement cartridges :D

It's not really budget, but it should be found for under 100...
The Canon i560 is the best printer I've ever owned... It's fast and each color is individual, so even the color carts will cost you no more than $20.00.

Appreciate all the suggestions, I'll look into all of them. SJetski, those prices on monsterinkjets.com are DIRT CHEAP! Are these prices for real? The ink cartridges I usually get for my Epson cost about 20, and they have em for like 2 dollars.

Sure they're real, but I'm sure they are refilled/remanufactured cartridges. The quality won't ever be as good as new ones, but if quality isn't important they will save you cash on ink. Just don't be surprised if they ruin your printer though. If its a cheapy disposable one its no big deal though.
